Efamol is made from 'Rigel' Seed, 33% higher in GLA
Our founder David Horrobin was the pioneer of the benefits found naturally in Evening Primrose Oil. He discovered Evening Primrose Oil contains an Essential Fatty Acid called Gamma Linolenic Acid.
Seeds from wild varieties of Evening Primrose will vary from crop to crop in the quantity and quality of Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid. Hence, the wild plant cannot be relied upon for a consistent quantity or quality of oil. From those findings Efamol developed our bespoke Evening Primrose plant which is naturally very high in GLA compared to standard Evening Primrose Oil, we still use the same seed ‘Rigel’ today.
No other Evening Primrose Oil contains Rigel seed oil which is naturally 33 % higher in GLA.
Gentle extraction process
Efamol carefully manages each step of its unique oil extraction process to ensure that the oil stays in the same form as in the seed, thus retaining its natural properties. Our Evening Primrose is produced to the highest manufacturing standard, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in the UK.
Efamol Evening Primrose Oil is tested to ensure it contains the GLA stated at expiry date and has been successfully used in numerous scientific trials in humans.
