The role of Omega 3 in children’s learning & development

Brain Health

DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) is a key component of the brain, contributing to maintenance of normal brain function.[1]

Eye Health

DHA is a key component of the retina, contributing to the maintenance of normal vision.[2]

Heart Health

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA are vital for heart health, contributing to the normal function of the heart.[3]

Most children do not get enough Omega 3 DHA from their diet. Consider a DHA-rich fish oil supplement to support your child’s brain function.

Supports Normal Brain Function & Vision

DHA supports normal brain function and normal vision†. A healthy functioning brain is needed to maintain concentration, a definition of brain performance.

Efamol

Unique blend of Fish Oil and Evening Primrose Oil including DHA EPA (omega-3 fatty acids), and GLA (omega-6 fatty acids).

We only use fish oil in the triglyceride form, which is the natural structure of omega-3 oils found in fish that the human body recognises and digests efficiently.

Developed by experts: driven by pioneering Efamol research

Pre-formulated, mass market formulation.

Efamol

Efamol pioneered the early research into essential fatty acids and was the first to show that dietary supplementation with omega-3 (and omega-6) fats can improve behaviour and learning in children.

In the last 30 years, Efamol has invested in 10 clinical studies using the Efalex formulation, to support its efficacy for children's brain health.

Efamol continues to partner with research institutes to study the role of essential fatty acids in human health.

Efamol

High-quality, sustainably sourced food-grade fish body oil (from anchovies, sardines and mackerel). The whole fish is used. Body oil is naturally lower in environmental toxins than liver oils.

Our unique oil extraction process concentrates and purifies the oil over a minimum of three molecular distillation steps to maintain its natural integrity.

We use the triglyceride form in all our fish oil, which is the natural structure of omega-3 oils found in fish and is the form that the human body recognises and digests efficiently.

Others

Low grade fish liver oil used, which can be higher in environmental toxins

Cheaper high strength fish oils are in the Ethyl Ester (EE) form, which does not naturally occur in the human diet. Some studies indicate that the absorption of omega-3 from ethyl esters may not be as efficient as from the other forms [7]

Efamol

Our fish oil is tested to ensure it is free from environmental contaminants. Every batch must contain less than 0.01 parts per million (ppm) of mercury. The fish oil is also tested for approximately 50 other potential environmental contaminants (heavy metals, PCBs, pesticides, etc).

Batch tested to ensure it contains the DHA, EPA and GLA stated at expiry date.

Others

May not be batch tested for DHA and EPA content.
