Feed your skin from the inside out

We invest so much time and money in our skin care regime, but often tend to focus on topical products rather than considering the food that we put into our bodies.

Feeding your skin, the body’s largest organ, from the inside out is vital if you want to keep it looking healthy and maintain long term skin health, which no amount of expensive creams will fix.

Essential fatty acids are the ‘good fats’ that are vital for our all round health, including our skin. Not only do they maintain the skin’s moisture barrier for a smooth, glowing complexion but they are also important for regulating the body’s inflammatory processes, helping with dry, irritated skin and eczema. Essential fats can’t be produced in the body and need to be obtained through diet. Foods such as oily fish, nuts and seeds are excellent sources of these fats. You could also consider taking a food supplement, such as Efamol Pure Evening Primrose Oil which has been shown to improve skin elasticity, moisture, smoothness and firmness and ease irritated skin – great if you’re prone to dry skin.

Efamol Pure Evening Primrose Oil contains high levels of the omega-6 essential fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA plays an active role in the normal structure of every single cell membrane in the body and is essential for skin structure. A lack of GLA quickly leads to dry skin because the cells become less efficient at retaining moisture.

A recent clinical trial confirmed that Efamol Pure Evening Primrose Oil aids the healing of dry and irritated skin and significantly improves its appearance in just three months. Volunteers showed improvements of between 10-25% in skin moisture, smoothness, firmness and strength after supplementing their daily diet with the supplement.
