Efamol Omega-3 session spawns Media Attention in Singapore
A recent medical congress in Singapore organised by the National Healthcare Group attracted speakers from around the world and delegates from all over Asia and included a session on Omega-3 fatty acids in human health and nutrition chaired by Peter Clough, Technical Director of Efamol Ltd. The session proved to be so popular it had to be repeated twice due to room capacity being exceeded.
Of further interest to local medical professionals and media alike the session also covered a new study recently started at the Institute of Medical Health to which Efamol are supplying study materials. This is the largest trial in it's field to date, including 600 children (aged 9-16 years) with ADHD and conduct disorder/oppositional defiant disorder, and three treatment groups: active, placebo and active + behavioural modification therapy.
As a result of both the Congress and the trial Peter Clough and Prof Fung from IMH were interviewed at length on breakfast TV on the role and benefits of Omega-3 especially in childhood learning disorders. A copy of the TV interview can be viewed here. In addition Peter Clough was also interviewed for an extensive piece on this subject in the November issue of Lifestyle magazine, the largest circulation magazine in Singapore. It will be followed by another article in the same magazine on Efalex in January 2010.
